How do I book a session?
Find the "Contact" page at the top, fill out the form and I'll get back to you shortly! You can also shoot me an email at mikaylaransonphoto@gmail.com.
What types of photography do you do?
I am currently booking for the following types of photoshoots:
- Headshots
- Individual portraits
- Couple photoshoots
- Family/group photoshoots
- Senior portraits
- Concert/gig photoshoots
If you are curious about a photoshoot that isn't listed above, feel free to contact me and ask!
Can I choose the location of my photoshoot?
Absolutely! I will travel anywhere within 30 miles of Quincy, Massachusetts for your session. Feel free to ask about a location if you're unsure. Here are a few great photo locations in the area:
- Rexhame Beach - Marshfield, MA
- War Memorial Park - West Bridgewater, MA
- Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate - Canton, MA
- Bay Farm - Kingston, MA
- Arnold Arboretum - Boston, MA
When will I receive my images?
Please allow for 3-5 days turnaround time on your photos. I am a quick yet busy gal, so I will do my best to get your photos to you ASAP!
Do you require a deposit?
Yes--a deposit of 50% of the total charge of the service is required at the time of booking. Deposits are refundable in the case of a cancellation with more than 24 hours' notice. If a session is cancelled less than 24 hours before, deposits are nonrefundable.
Which payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash, check, PayPal, and Venmo.
When is the session fee due?
Your session fee is due at the time of your session.
What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
I totally understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule a session (car broke down, emergencies, dog ate your homework), let me know as soon as you can and I will work with you to reschedule your session. More than 24 hours notice is required for cancellations. Deposits are nonrefundable for sessions cancelled less than 24 hours before.
What if there is inclement weather for our scheduled session?
New England weather is very unpredictable: with that being said, I will do my best to keep track of the weather in the days leading up to your session. If the weather app isn't looking too great for the day of your scheduled session, I will be sure to contact you as soon as I can so that we can get your session rescheduled. I will continue with the session in the case of a cloudy day, but I'm more than happy to reschedule if you'd prefer a sunnier day.
How long will the sessions take?
All sessions (with the exception of concert/gig photoshoots) will last about an hour. You will be getting all of the time and attention that you deserve for you service!
What are the deliverables?
You will be receiving an online, password-protected gallery of all JPEG photos, edited and retouched (including color correction, improved lighting, sharpness, etc). I do not provide RAW photos. You will have full ownership of the photos; however, while not required,I would love if you could tag my business in any photos that you post to social media!
What should I wear?
Anything that makes you feel great! For headshots being used for professional purposes I would recommend a more formal outfit (dress, suit, etc). However, because I am a natural light photographer, I would recommend not wearing white or strong red shirts as this can cause issues with the exposure of the photos.
I don't know how to pose! Will you help me during the shoot?
I get this question all of the time--part of the reason why I became a photographer is because I also don't know how to pose well (lol). I'm much better at posing other people than posing myself, so rest assured I will help guide you into natural poses that feel comfortable for you!
Senior Portraits:
Can I bring anything that shows the sports or extracurricular activities that I'm in?
Absolutely! Any opportunity to show off your identity is a great opportunity. Feel free to bring any props, musical instruments, uniforms, etc.
Who can come with me to my session?
You can bring your parent(s), a friend, a sibling--anyone, really!
